Ghent-based band - earlier under the name Things to Come - who shot to the top of the Belgian scene through their victory in the 1998-edition of the Rock Rally (a "battle of the bands" contest, which they won before Fence and Chrome Yellow). The trademark Das Pop are (what else to expect with such a name) pop-melodies and a sound that's close to Blur and Britpop. As Bent van Looy, the singing and painting drummer, describes it "There's a need for pure pop in Belgium. Our music is without pretence, but has to be clever. This has to be clear both in the lyrics and the music.

Feelgood Factors Lyrics

Das Pop

i've got what i need
got it when i slam hard to the beat
bangin' on the system
screamin' on the stereo
carry on and tell me what you like
where you like it
and how many times
bangin' on the system
screamin' on the stereo
'cause we were never feel good factors
there were never morning afters
and when i saw you :
not much i could do
'cause we were not as seen on tv
maybe we were losers even
and then you saw me :
the state of my sheets
i've got what i need
got it on the corner of your street
got it when you kiss me
got it when you're sick of me too
red eyes, bad rash
sitcoms, bad hash
blowjobs, black eyes :
never had them all my life
then you came around
clearly i was new in this town
'cause we were never feel good factors
there were never morning afters
and then i saw you :
not much i could do
'cause we were not as seen on tv
maybe we were losers even
and then you saw me :
the state of my sheets
get a life :
got it
get a love life :
i'm on top of it
bangin' on the system
screamin' on the stereo
i've got what i need
got it when i slam hard to the beat
bangin' on the system
screamin' on the stereo
'cause we were never feel good factors
there were never morning afters
and then i saw you :
not much i could do
'cause we were not as seen on tv
maybe we were losers even
and then you saw me :
the state of my sheets
